雖然 Samsung 才剛推出了 Galaxy Note 4，而且銷情看來尚算不錯。不過 Samsung 並不會就此停步，據一名不願意透露姓名的內部人士表示，Samsung 已著手開發新一代的 Galaxy S6 手機。據了解，手機將配備 2560 x 1440 顯示屏，不過尺寸似乎就仍未有定案。
至於主鏡頭方面，則會採用 Sony 製作的 IMX240 鏡頭，像素為 1600 萬或 2000 萬。前置鏡頭亦會提升至 500 萬像素。另外，Samsung 亦認為 16GB Rom 已經不足以應付消費者的需要，因此將會分 32GB、64GB 及 128GB 版本推出。
處理器方面，手機或會採用自家的 Exynos 7420 處理器，將是 Samsung 首款預載運行 64-bit 的手機 (現時的 Note 4 雖支援 64-bit，但在 Lollipop 系統前只會以 32-bit 運作)。雖然這些消息仍有待證實，但相信實際規格相差不遠。
